Publishing local history. Empowering independent historians.

About Greysteel Press

Greysteel Press is an Elizabethtown, Kentucky-based independent publisher devoted entirely to history. Founded in 2026 by Anthony Clemons, the press began as an outlet for local historians and researchers who wanted to bring their work into the world professionally, without turning to vanity presses — so that writers could stand behind their books, and their communities, now and for generations to come, could rely on that work to understand where they came from and where they're headed.

Greysteel Press is dedicated to helping local historians, genealogists, archivists, and community researchers transform original research into professionally published books that preserve the history of place.

We publish under the belief that a "niche" can be as broad as a single street, a whole state, or every county in between. Whether you're an emerging writer with your first research trail or a seasoned historian with a body of work behind you, Greysteel is a place to find guidance, support, and a publisher genuinely invested in getting your story to readers.

Greysteel Press is closely affiliated with The Historian Syndicate, also founded by Anthony Clemons, a resource for learning how to gather, assemble, and publish historical research. You can learn more about Anthony's work at anthonycclemons.net, and join the Syndicate at historiansyndicate.com.

Greysteel Press is distributed by IngramSpark.
